Fee Schedule

A non-refundable administrative fee of $300.00 per party will be added to the cost of mediation. Please contact us for more info.

Full-Day Mediation: The Mediation Offices of Steven G. Mehta® rates start at $18,000.00 for a day of mediation per eight (8) hours of professional services via Zoom.

For in-person mediations, please call for a quote.
The agreement to render services is with the attorney or representative (of any person or entity) who will be attending the hearing. The attorney and client are jointly and severally responsible for all fees and charges. All invoices are due and payable upon receipt. Any payment made more than thirty days after the invoice is issued can be charged a late fee of 1.5% of the outstanding balance for each month that the amount remains outstanding.

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation policy for mediation is required for several reasons:
  • More than one case is seeking to schedule mediation on the same date. Because of previously scheduled mediations, these other parties are unable to have such dates. They are then inconvenienced to either schedule for a later date or choose another provider of mediation to resolve their matter.
  • If mediation is cancelled untimely, we cannot substitute another mediation to replace the lost revenue. We have reserved the time for you and are unable to conduct any other mediations during that time period on short notice. Usually, mediations and hearings are booked several weeks to months before the scheduled date, and, unlike an attorney’s practice, we cannot fill that time with another client matter.
Therefore, the cancellation policy is as follows:
If the mediation is canceled or postponed, for any reason, 35 days or less before the scheduled date, the party requesting the cancellation or postponement is responsible for the entire deposit (not just the canceling party’s share of the deposit).

Per Diem Fees

The Mediation Offices of Steven G. Mehta® rates start at $18,000, which includes up to eight (8) hours of professional services via Zoom.
Please note that the fees vary based on the number of parties involved (e.g., 2-party, 3-party, 4+ party, Class/PAGA, or Complex Class/PAGA cases) and mediation venue (virtual or in-person).

Extra Time

The Mediation Offices of Steven G. Mehta® charges for extra preparation, hearing time, conferences, and follow-up time. After the mediation has concluded, the Mediation Offices of Steven G. Mehta® will send a supplemental invoice, which is due and payable upon receipt.

THIRD-PARTY FACILITIES COSTS

Mr. Mehta conducts all of his mediations either in person or via Zoom. If the mediation is in person, the parties are responsible for obtaining a mutually agreeable and suitable location for the mediation. The costs incurred for all conference and office facilities will be borne by the parties.
In all occasions where the mediation is conducted in person, the facilities must have the following capabilities: (1) one conference room per party; (2) adequate and secure internet; (3) A separate breakout office or conference room for the mediator to conduct private business either with the parties, counsel, or telephone conferences, among other things; (4) Snacks and drinks available to all participants.

FEE AND COST ALLOCATION

PER DIEM FEES (Paragraph 1) and EXTRA TIME (Paragraph 2) will be billed to and are due from the mediation participants in equal, pro-rated shares unless they agree to a different allocation and notify The Mediation Offices of Steven G. Mehta® before issuing invoices.

DEPOSITS

Each participant’s share of the total amount due must be deposited immediately upon receipt of the invoice in order to guarantee the reservation. The Mediation Offices of Steven G. Mehta® reserves the right to offer the date to other potential mediation participants until the deposit is paid.

CANCELLATION AND POSTPONEMENT

If the mediation is canceled or postponed, for any reason, 35 days or less before the scheduled date, the party requesting the cancellation or postponement is responsible for the entire deposit (not just the canceling party’s share of the deposit).
Most mediations are booked months in advance of the hearing. Although the Mediation Offices of Steven G. Mehta® will make attempts to re-book the date, it is very difficult to book a mediation with less than 35 days' notice due to the clients' schedules.

PAYMENT RESPONSIBILITY

The attorney and his or her client are jointly and severally liable to Steven G. Mehta and the Mediation Offices of Steven G. Mehta® for payment of fees and costs. The contract to retain Mr. Mehta’s services is entered into at 25448 Hardy Place, Stevenson Ranch, CA 91381.
